Bio

Christopher Owens, PhD, MPH, (he/him) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at the Texas A&M University College of Education and Human Development. He received his MPH and PhD in Health Behavior from the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Northwestern University Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing. His postdoctoral training focused on HIV prevention in adolescent sexual minority males. His work focuses on three main areas: (1) HIV prevention continuum among adolescent/adult sexual and gender minorities, (2) uptake of HIV prevention evidence-based practices among healthcare providers, and (3) HIV prevention in rural settings.
