Edda Rodriguez, PhD, MPH is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, Division of Prevention Science and Community Health, at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is deeply committed to working with underserved communities to improve health outcomes, with an emphasis on the ongoing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), substance misuse, and mental health syndemic. In her research, Dr. Rodriguez utilizes implementation science, social network, and qualitative approaches to understand how this complex syndemic impacts individuals at the intersection of multiple marginalized positions. She is passionate about using community-based and equity-focused approaches to ensure that the needs of the community remain central to her work.
