Meredith Brooks, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Health at Boston University School of Public Health. Trained in epidemiology, population health, and urban health at Northeastern University, with postdoctoral training in tuberculosis epidemiology at Harvard Medical School, she has built an internationally recognized research portfolio focused on pediatric tuberculosis, HIV, global health delivery, and the translation of evidence into policy and practice. Her work integrates epidemiology, innovative methodologies, and implementation science frameworks to improve the detection, treatment, and prevention of TB and HIV—particularly for children and vulnerable populations in resource-limited settings—through multi-country projects, primarily in Peru, South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. She serves as Principal Investigator on an NIH/NIAID K01 award focused on youth tuberculosis transmission, a CFAR Developmental Award assessing the interplay of HIV, anemia, and tuberculosis treatment in children, and a variety of other foundation-funded studies focusing on increasing the efficiency of community-based screening efforts. She develops and uses advanced tools and frameworks to shape clinical guidelines and health system strategies worldwide. At BUSPH, Dr. Brooks teaches ‘Implementation Science: Linking Research to Practice’ and mentors students across degree levels, emphasizing equity, rigor, and real-world application, while also serving in leadership roles on faculty governance and contributing to the advancement of global health scholarship through editorial and professional society service.
