Awardee

Tim Levengood, PhD MPH is a postdoctoral scholar at Northwestern University’s Impact Institute. He is a health services researcher working to improve the infrastructure for HIV, substance use disorder (SUD), and mental health (MH) services in the U.S. healthcare safety-net. He studies policies that shape the uptake and delivery of these critical, but low-profit services among safety-net care providers. Prior to Northwestern, Tim received his PhD in health services and policy research from Boston University and his MPH from The University of Georgia, and he worked as an ORISE fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Community Guide Branch. Currently, Tim is studying organizational, policy, and economic determinants of implementation of lenacapvir, a 6-month version of long-acting injectable pre-exposure prophylaxis (LAI-PrEP) to prevent HIV that has the potential to overcome barriers to PrEP access and reduce transmission of HIV.
