"The Greater Baltimore HIV Health Services Planning Council (PC) is a mayoral-appointed planning body legislatively mandated to plan for medical and support services to people living with HIV in central Maryland. Over the next several months, the PC and its committees will hold several meetings to engage the community and stakeholders to inform Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Integrated Plan for HIV Prevention and Treatment from 2017 to 2021.
In 2015, the White House set the following goals for the nation:
• Increase the percentage of newly diagnosed persons linked to HIV medical care within one month of their HIV diagnosis to at least 85%.
• Increase the percentage of persons with diagnosed HIV infection who are in care to at least 90%.
• Reduce the disparities in the rate of new diagnoses by at least 15% particularly among vulnerable communities.
We invite consumers of HIV services to join the PC as it plans on Meeting the Needs of People with HIV. The PLWH/A Committee will discuss the continuing role of the client in planning and medical care. The committee would also like to learn about emerging service needs in the community."
