The Bridging the Gap Symposium promotes community linkages between Johns Hopkins researchers with HIV focused NGOs, the Baltimore City Health Department, and people affected with HIV/AIDS through the creation of forums to exchange data, information, and resources. The Bridging the Gap Symposium is led by the Community Participatory Advisory Board of the CFAR and co-sponsored by the AIDS Education Training Center and the Baltimore City Health Department.

The first annual Bridging the Gap Symposium took place on Friday, October 18, 2013. The third annual Bridging the Gap Symposium is set to take place on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.

The entrances to the Koch Cancer Research Building (CRB-2) and the Bunting Blaustein Cancer Research Building (CRB-1) are located on Jefferson Street. Parking is available in the McElderry Garage across the street. The entrance to the Albert Owens Auditorium is located in the walkway between CRB-2 and CRB-1.
