Biography

Associate Research Professor, Department of International Health, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health 

Laura Beres is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of International Health, Social and Behavioral Interventions Program and affiliated with the Center for AIDS Research. She is a social and behavioral scientist focused on engaging with communities to co-create and evaluate implementation approaches to effectively prevent and treat illness, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Laura is particularly interested in optimizing engagement with HIV prevention and treatment services, as well as violence and sexual and reproductive health. She has implemented public health programs with the Governments of Lesotho and Zambia and conducted research and health policy work globally with non-governmental organizations, universities, and the World Health Organization. 

Her expertise involves:
