Dr. Denison works with adolescents on HIV prevention, care and treatment issues globally as an Assistant Professor in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of International Health, Social and Behavioral Interventions Program. Her expertise includes examining the social and familial determinants of HIV testing, adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and retention to care. She is currently the PI on a JHU Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) faculty development grant to assess adherence to ART among adolescents living with HIV in Zambia using medical event monitoring systems (MEMS) caps. She is also PI on an NIH R34-funded study to pilot a caregiver and adolescent group intervention among adolescents living with HIV in Zambia to improve HIV self-management among this underserved population. She has expertise in conducting HIV-related operations research and program evaluation utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods. She also serves as co-instructor at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health course entitled: Health Behavior Change at the Individual, Household and Community Levels.
