Developmental Core

OVERVIEW

Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Developmental Core to foster new research initiatives, support early-career investigators, and encourage innovative approaches to HIV/AIDS research. The core serves as an incubator for cutting-edge ideas by providing funding, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities.

  • Funding for Pilot Studies – Seed funding to support novel research projects, allowing investigators to generate preliminary data needed for larger grant applications.
  • Support for Early-Career Researchers – Mentorship and career development opportunities for junior investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and early-stage faculty members.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration – We facilitate connections between researchers from different disciplines to encourage fresh perspectives on HIV/AIDS research.
  • Resource Access – Help investigators access essential resources, such as biostatistical support, laboratory services, and community engagement tools.
  • Enhancing Research Impact – By funding high-risk, high-reward projects, the Developmental Core helps JHU CFAR stay at the forefront of HIV/AIDS research and discovery
